Police Officer candidates must be between the ages of 21 and 45 and must have a high school diploma or GED. Candidates do not have to be a resident of the City of Muskogee.
Firefighter candidates must be between the ages of 21 and 45. Candidates do not have to be a resident of the City of Muskogee.
Police officer and firefighter candidates must pass both a physical agility test and a written examination. Police candidates who are already CLEET certified do not need to complete the written examination; but must successfully pass the physical agility test during normal testing procedures. Candidates will then appear before an oral interview panel for selection. If selected, candidates must pass a state pension board physical prior to employment and participation in the State pension system.
