                      CLASS TITLE:  CIC Direct-Care Staff (Part-Time)

 

 


PURPOSE OF THE CLASSIFICATION:   

Provides direct supervision of juveniles in the Community Intervention Center. 

 


ESSENTIAL TASKS:

  • Answers telephones and gives information to callers, takes messages, or transfers calls to appropriate individual(s).
  • Greets visitors, handles their inquiries and directs them to the appropriate person(s) according to their needs.
    • Performs initial assessment and completes all required paperwork on juveniles entering into the CIC.
    • Enters data on juveniles into computer system.
    • Refers all incidents immediately to supervisor. 
  • Performs other work as necessary and or as assigned.
  • Must report to work on a regular and timely basis.

·        Provides direct supervision to all juveniles assigned to the CIC.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

The CIC Direct-Care Staff reports directly to the CIC Direct-Care Supervisor. 

 

The CIC Direct-Care Staff does not have any direct reports or supervisory responsibilities.

 

 


QUALIFICATIONS:

Training and Experience:  High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of customer service experience. 

 

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:  Good knowledge of the geography of the city.  Proficiency in the use of computer and word processing software.   Ability to follow both oral and written instructions and interpret and explain data effectively.  Ability to work under conditions involving stress.  Must be able to read and understand complex written material and instructions; exercise appropriate judgment in establishing priorities and work methods; establish and maintain record-keeping systems as needed; resolve problems and complaints and excellent ability to deal tactfully with the public and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the general public. 

 

Physical Requirements:  The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.  On a case-by-case basis, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  While performing the duties of this job, arm and hand steadiness and finger dexterity will be needed enough to use a key board and telephone.  Occasional sitting and standing is required.  Occasional lifting and carrying of objects up to twenty (20) pounds.  Occasional reaching, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, twisting, handling and repetitive movements.  Vision, speech and hearing sufficient to perform essential tasks.  Punctuality and reasonable attendance is essential.     Must submit to drug screening and fitness to work physical exam.

 

Licenses and Certificates:  Possession of a valid Oklahoma Class D driver’s license is required.  Must meet all requirements by the Office of Juvenile Affairs regulation 377:3-13-88, which include passing a thorough background investigation and maintaining a drug free and criminal free background while employed.  Candidates must be at least 21 years of age pursuant to OJA regulation 377:3-13-88. 

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:  Work in this classification is primarily indoors in an office environment. 

 

STARTING PAY:  $10.00/hr.

 

WORK HOURS:  Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, midnight to 8:00 a.m./24 hours per week.

 

WORK LOCATION:  City of Muskogee City Attorney’s Office (located at the CIC/Jail, 122 South 3rd Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma).
